The music and its interpretation here are as beautiful and haunting as Wendell Berry's poem. What a glorious combination! Other composer's versions all sound (literally) like poor imitations of Szymko's.

My beginners choir is singing this song this year

I must mention for a HS level choir the sounds exceeds leaps and bounds for this age group. Perhaps the most mature and formal interpretation of this piece by such young ladies however, Mendelssohn arranged this as if a trio of angelic voices with the inspiring text to look beyond your sight and that the lord is always at your call, although the quality and unheard of discipline heard hear (ugh I'm just beside myself on that alone superb, just a bit to heavy for this arrangement. Other than that, ladies you are are in your own class, congratulations!!

Great job. DCHS Bel Canto is doing this song (I'm in Bel Canto) for our Ole Miss competition. Nice dynamics and volumes throughout the song. Overall great job. Out of 1-4 (1 being the best ) I give it a 2. But the consonants at the beginning aren't there. And I hear someone going Shi-rue. Like giving emphasis on the "ru" part. (It's mezzoforte at the start remember) you started a bit piano. One more, but at the middle part, it was a little slow. Then you sped it up. Good job there.
